
Menzies Aviation announced that on 1st May 2008 it will start operations at Austin Bergstrom International Airport in Texas with JetBlue Airways, the US low-fare airline, as its launch customer. Austin Bergstom International Airport will become Menzies Aviation’s third station in Texas, and will complement its established operations at Dallas Fort-Worth and Houston International Airports where it offers a full range of passenger, ramp and cargo operations. The company will now operate at 16 stations in the US.
Menzies Aviation currently provides handling for JetBlue in the US at Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle as well as St Maarten, Puerto Plata, and Santo Domingo in the Caribbean.
JetBlue serves 53 destinations in the United States and six Caribbean nations. On 1st May, JetBlue will begin service to four new cities from Austin – Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida, and Long Beach and San Francisco, California, in addition to its existing flights to Boston and New York. Menzies Aviation will provide ground handling services for JetBlue’s eight daily departures from Austin.
