Hosted Buyer Programme: Online registrations for ITB Asia 2008

ITB Asia, first offspring of ITB Berlin,  invites Travel Agents, Travel Managers and MICE Professionals to apply for the Hosted Buyer status. The Hosted Buyer status will be awarded according to pre-set criteria that aim to meet the objective of ITB Asia Hosted Buyer programme. To qualify successfully applicants must be responsible for making or influencing buying decisions within the global travel market. Every Hosted Buyer will participate in a prescheduled appointment system that guarantees a maximum of quality contacts to sellers. 

Educational conferences provided by MPI, ACTE and Web in Travel will complement the show to provide hosted buyers with indispensable industry knowledge about the latest trends and developments. In addition numerous exciting activities and business networking opportunities await them.

ITB Asia will take place for the first time ever at Suntec Singapore on 22-24 October 2008. It is organised by Messe Berlin Singapore Pte Ltd in conjunction with Singapore Tourism Board. The event will feature over 500 exhibitors from the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Americas and Middle East, covering not only the Leisure Market, but also Corporate and MICE travel. It will include exhibition pavilions and tabletop presence for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) providing travel services.

Exhibitors are from every sector of the industry, including destinations, airlines and airports, hotels & resorts, theme parks & attractions, inbound tour operators, inbound DMCs, cruise lines, spas, venues, other meeting facilities and travel technology companies etc.

How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
