VisitDenmark booking becomes TouristOnline
Thursday, April 24, 2008

VisitDenmark Booking changes its name to TouristOnline A/S. TouristOnline previously concentrated its business around online booking of hotels and holiday homes in  Denmark, but introduced online booking of hotels worldwide in 2007.

The new name, TouristOnline, will create coherence between the company name and the services provided today and in the future.

Through the two main websites, Hotel.dk and DanishHolidayHomes.com, TouristOnline offers online booking of more than 350 hotels and 26,000 holiday houses in Denmark. Furthermore, in co-orporation with Booking.com, TouristOnline offers more than 35,000 hotels worldwide. TouristOnline is the largest provider of online booking of Danish hotels.

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
