Canada's evolving online travel market is discussed at the Online Revealed Canada Conference
Tuesday, April 29, 2008

With the ever-increasing power of the internet in researching, and booking travel, and a consumer base that is using the internet in new ways every day - Canadian tourism professionals will converge in Calgary, Alberta next month to discuss the latest trends, review new digital marketing opportunities, and to share best practices.

With new and innovative sessions discussing such hot topics as social media marketing, Local and mobile marketing, Blogging, and web strategy development – the 2008 Conference is separated into Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Strategy  to give options to past attendees, and those new to Internet marketing.

Supported by industry leaders such as Yahoo! Canada, Travelzoo, Travelocity, Orbitz, TIG Global, Axiom, Booking.com and more – the 2-day internet marketing event is expected to reach record attendance.

“With our leading position in the European Market and the economic situation, our customers are looking for more choices in Canada. We are looking forward to participating in the Online Reveal Conference to reach out to potential hotel partners for them to benefit from our international customers” says Jean-Charles de Bievre, of Booking.com.

Opening with a keynote by Kyle MacDonald, whose story was featured on CBC, CNN, ABC, and 20/20 when he traded his way online from a single red paper-clip, to a house – the forum is ideal for those responsible for marketing online in a medium that is ever evolving.

“The conference will focus on opportunities to leverage new online channels to connect, promote, build brands, and generate sales for travel and tourism products that rely on the Internet as a key distribution tool” says Patricia Brusha, Co-Founder of Online Revealed, and Conference Co-Chair.

“We are thrilled with the support we have had in bringing together such incredible speakers and sponsors from all across Canada to share online marketing tactics and success stories in marketing tourism online.”

The premier Canadian tourism online marketing event is a must attend for Destination Marketing Organizations, Tourism Operators, Hoteliers, Travel Agencies, Attractions, Media and Marketing agencies, Programmers and Designers and Tourism Suppliers looking to understand how the Internet has changed Tourism Marketing, and how to be successful in reaching the millions. “Canadians alone use Yahoo! for than 4 million searches a day on their part of the Search Network, which totals more then 85 million searches a day nation wide”, says Martin Byrne of Yahoo! Canada.

How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
