Monday, May 05, 2008

Howard Johnson announced the addition of the Howard Johnson Inn – Airdrie, Alberta to their Canadian franchise system. The Howard Johnson Airdrie will be the fourth property to join the system in the last 4 months and the second new-build project.

This will also be the second Howard Johnson property for owner, Kirshan Mall who believes in the power of the Howard Johnson brand.

“With Howard Johnson’s “Fresh Approach” the brand is headed in an exciting direction,” said Mall, “when we decided to build another hotel, Howard Johnson was the obvious brand of choice; we’re very excited to continue our relationship with them.”

“We are delighted to be working Mr. Mall and his team on this project.  They have a fantastic vision of the new property,” stated Glen Blake, President of Howard Johnson Canada.  “We are also very excited to expand our brand within our existing franchise family.  With Mr. Mall’s dedication to quality and service, I am confident the Howard Johnson Airdrie will be a premier lodging facility.”

Construction is schedule to begin later this year, with at target opening date of summer 2009.
