Accor adds Mercure at London Gatwick airport
Friday, May 09, 2008

Accor has taken over the former Renaissance London Gatwick Hotel and it will be re -branded as the Mercure London Gatwick as of the 23rd May 2008. The hotel is Accor’s third at Gatwick, joining Sofitel and Ibis hotels at the highly strategic transport hub.

The 254-room Mercure London Gatwick is well-located, being only half a mile from Gatwick Airport (5 minutes by shuttle bus) and minutes from the M23.

The hotel will undergo a refurbishment programme in the second half of the year, but this will be undertaken without any disruptions to guests.

Shane Pateman Director of Operations Mercure Hotels, Regional UK and Ireland said, “Gatwick is a key location for the Mercure brand – it is a major international business and tourist hub and is key for us as we develop the brand in the UK. This hotel is an ideal addition to the Mercure portfolio and we look forward to working with Arora International in building on the success that the hotel has already achieved.”
