New visa application centre for France, German and Italian consulates in Dubai
Monday, May 12, 2008

The Consulate General of France in Dubai, in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Consular agency of Italy, has opened a new visa application centre. VFS Global, a specialist partner for diplomatic missions worldwide and part of the Zurich based Kuoni Travel Group, will provide support services for those requiring visas to travel to France and the Schengen countries.

“This new initiative will enable a faster and more efficient application process with trained professionals on hand to help with applications and provide advice about the rules and requirements for obtaining visas,” explained Mme Michelle Carret-Giraud from the Consulate General of France in Dubai

The visa application centre at Jumeirah Palms Residence, next to the Capitol Hotel on Al Mina Road in Al Hudaiba Dubai, will be open from Sunday to Thursday, with no appointment required.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
