Comlux purchases pair of Bombardier XRS jets
Thursday, May 22, 2008
Comlux Aviation the VIP Charter division of Comlux The Aviation Group, signed a firm order for two ultra long-range Global Express XRS jets. The aircraft will increase Comlux Aviation's young and modern fleet to a total of nine Bombardier business jets - including two widebody Challenger 605, two Challenger 850, two Global Express XRS jets - now available for private, business and group charter - and a high-speed Global 5000 jet.

"The superior comfort and state of the art features of the luxurious cabin combined with the advanced technology and comfort of the new flight deck, with particular attention to detail and functionality, underline why the new Global Express XRS is the definitive business jet," said Ettore Rodaro, chief operating officer and head of the VIP charter division, Comlux Aviation. "Being an industry leader means offering your clientele the very best products and services, and this aircraft goes beyond the profile. I am confident that our discerning clientele will look forward with high anticipation to experiencing this impressive new jet."

"These new aircraft are part of our strategic development plan to become the leading long-haul charter services provider in Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East, and will be a complement to our Airbus corporate jet fleet," continued Mr. Rodaro.

The firm order for two Global Express XRS jets - featuring an unsurpassed high-speed range capability and cabin size combination - is a reflection of the strong market interest in Bombardier business aircraft products across both traditional and growth markets in Europe.

"Global aircraft feature a proven and reliable platform, resulting in unprecedented performance and reliability. There are over 230 Global aircraft in service now worldwide, an impressive fleet with significant potential for growth," observed Bob Horner, senior vice-president, sales, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "This repeat order underlines Comlux's confidence in Bombardier and in particular the Global Express XRS."

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
