New Arrivals Hall for Newquay Cornwall Airport
Thursday, June 12, 2008
Newquay Cornwall Airport, on course to handle 500,000 passengers this year with a bolstered 24-strong route network, has opened its brand new arrivals hall. The new building marks the second stage of development in the last two years at the airport and is part of ongoing plans to increase the capacity of the terminal to meet a throughput of 700,000 passengers a year.

Al Titterington, Airport Operations Director said: “We are pleased to be opening the new arrival hall on schedule, which now enables us to handle domestic and international flights simultaneously. The new facility is geared towards a faster, smoother process for passengers transiting through the Airport and improving the customer experience. With the increased number international flights including Ryanair’s Spanish flights, Lufthansa’s service to Germany and ski destinations this winter by Air Southwest and Flybe, the new arrivals facility is a must.”

The remaining terminal works are on schedule for completion in July as the airport gears up for its busiest summer on record with a route network, which has grown more than 50% since the start of 2007.

Poll
The imminent privatization of Olympic Airlines is expected to change the fate of this debt-laden airline. What do you think the new owner should do in regard to the brand name of the Greek national flag carrier?.

Keep “Olympic Airlines” as the name of the company as it remains a strong brand.

The company should keep “Olympic” as an element of its name but refresh the brand (e.g. “New Olympic Airlines”).

The airline should drop “Olympic” from its name. This brand has lost its value and isn’t relevant to the market anymore.
