Intensive tourism development in Montenegro, increase in accommodation facilities, and an increasing number of foreign tourists visiting Montenegro year after year required an adequate offer of the transportation facilities. In relation to that, at the initiative of the Government of Montenegro and the line ministries, Montenegro Airlines as the national carrier increased the number of flights to the existing destinations and opened new lines to the destinations that were recognized as the most important tourism and business originating markets.   

The new destination that Montenegro Airlines has introduced is London

As of June 15, Montenegro Airlines is introducing a new flight from London to Tivat. In the beginning it is planned to have two flights per week (each Wednesday and Sunday), and then to increase it to three times per week. The designated airport is Gatwick – London.

Departures from Tivat to go to London are on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:30 am.
Return flights: London – Tivat Wednesdays at 10.55am and Sundays at 11.10am.

Last year there has been an increase in the number of tourists from Great Britain who visited Montenegro. According to the official statistics, 15,324 tourists from Great Britain visited Montenegro, and this resulted in 90,543 overnight stays, which is 14% higher than in 2006.
