Fraport starts managing Riyadh and Jeddah airports
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Under a management contract, 13 employees of Fraport AG have started working at the Saudi Arabian airports of Riyadh and Jeddah.  The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) conducted an international bidding process to find partners for managing and developing the three largest international airports in Saudi Arabia – Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.  Fraport bid for Riyadh and Jeddah and won against various competitors.

During the six-year contract period for both airports, the Fraport management teams will be responsible for daily operations and for leading a wide range of projects.  In particular, the focus will be on developing both airports and improving service quality, as well as on sustainable traffic growth.  An important element during the entire contract period is an extensive training program for all levels of management at Riyadh and Jeddah airports.
