HKTB launches 2008 Hong Kong summer temptations
Wednesday, July 02, 2008
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) rolled out its mega summer promotion, the 2008 Hong Kong Summer Temptations. At launch ceremony, Mr Anthony Lau, Executive Director of HKTB, was joined by partners and supporting organisations of the campaign.

The promotion will run from 1 July to 21 September.  This year, the HKTB is giving the promotion a new twist by showcasing Hong Kong’s summer experience in a different light.  Offering diverse and exciting shopping, dining and sightseeing experiences, the city is the perfect destination to enjoy a fun-filled summer.

The 2008 Hong Kong Summer Temptations promotional campaign has received strong support from the local travel trade and organisations from different sectors.  During the promotions, various activities will be organised, including the “Explore Hong Kong Stamp Rally” programme, which encourages visitors to explore the attractions and museums in Hong Kong.  In addition, the HKTB has joined hands with the MTR Corporation to produce the MTR Summer Temptations Tourist Guide, which features tips for exploring Hong Kong’s major attractions, as well as amazing offers provided by different dining and shopping outlets along the MTR.  Another highlight of the promotion is the “Visa ‘Million Dollar Travel Bonanza’ Lucky Draw”, which offers prizes valued at HK$1.2 million in total.  By actively promoting the lucky draw, the HKTB hopes that visitors will be given further incentive to spend during the summer sale period.

Across Hong Kong, 12 shopping malls and department stores and 9 food districts have already enrolled their participation in the 2008 Hong Kong Summer Temptations, presenting visitors with a host of fabulous offers and privileges.  Moreover, about 60 hotels have put together special packages and complimentary offers, while travel trade partners have launched in May tour packages themed around Hong Kong Summer Temptations. Local travel agents will also introduce tours to outlying islands and Victoria Harbour.
