Major industry heavyweights lined-up to discuss the future of the travel industry
Wednesday, August 20, 2008
TTI has lined-up a group of industry heavyweights who will give their opinions on where the travel industry is heading in the next few years.

Mick Mott, General Manager of TTI, stated, “There are uncertain times ahead and more so, now, than in other time recently, travel companies need guidance on how the industry is going to move forward in the face of an impending recession. We have gathered together some key industry figures who, hopefully, will have the answers on how to continue to thrive.”

The conference is due to take place on 23 September in London. Speaking at the event are:

They will be examining the travel trade revolution, the future outlook for suppliers, how to capitalise on the online opportunity and the continued development of consumer access technology.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
