Domina Hotel Group acquires hotel in Bari
Thursday, August 28, 2008
Domina Hotel Group announces the acquisition of the lease to operate Palace Hotel Bari. The Hotel, open since 1956 and located in the very heart of the city centre, is the largest and most prestigious hotel in Bari, one of the major Italian business destinations.

“We are happy to entrust the management of Palace Hotel Bari to Domina Hotel Group, confident that it will be able to maintain and develop the hospitality standards that have always characterized the Hotel.” says Simeone Abbrescia Di Cagno, heir of the family that through generations has managed and will continue owning the real estate side of the property.

The hotel features 200 warm and bright rooms including themed ones reserved for business travellers, music lovers, children, guests with pets and for women only. Business travellers have at their disposal executive business rooms where they can find high tech facilities, useful for efficient stays combining relax and work.

Meeting facilities are the flagship of Domina Hotel & Conference Bari; 16 meeting rooms are arranged on 3 floors and can hold up to 420 people. Villa Palace ‘800, a country residence of the 19th Century close to Bari ideal for weddings and banquets, completes the offer.

Cuisine reaches its peak at the Murat Restaurant, where International and regional dishes combine in an enchanting setting such as the roof garden where guests can enjoy a panoramic view on the entire city. Breakfast at Domina Hotel Bari is an experience too; its service has won the Hotel of the Year award.

“Domina Hotel Group is proud to announce the acquisition of Domina Hotel Bari which over the last decades has been a reference model for its hospitality, location and performance. This acquisition is adding an important destination to the growing Italian portfolio of the Group” says Francois Droulers, Vice President Director of Development and Acquisitions.

Domina Hotel & Conference Bari - Palace belongs to the Domina Hotel brand which is the perfect match of contemporary International hospitality with the Italian timeless art of welcoming. Being Italian also brings another value; the love for beauty. When Domina Hotel Group’s International experience is added to this, only something special may be born: Domina Hotel. Special just as the locations they rise on: unique, accurately selected to represent a specific philosophy, fruit of a great attention to everything that makes a difference, towards everything that makes a hotel a Domina Hotel.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
