China Airlines and Hainan Airlines Cooperate on Frequent Flyer Programs
Tuesday, September 02, 2008
China Airlines and Hainan Airlines will cooperate on a joint mileage program beginning today, as frequent-flyer members on both airlines will be able to accumulate and redeem the miles interchangeably.

Beginning yesterday, members of China Airlines Dynasty Frequent Flyer Program can accumulate air miles while taking regular flights on Hainan Airlines, including cross-strait flights. At the same time, members of the Hainan Airlines program can enjoy the same privileges when traveling on China Airlines flights. The accumulated mileage can be exchanged for tickets on both China Airlines and Hainan Airlines.

In addition to the new cooperation with Hainan Airlines, China Airlines also has mileage program cooperation with Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines, Czech Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Air China and China Southern Airlines.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
