Hong Kong Express adds four new popular destinations to its line-up
Friday, September 05, 2008
Hong Kong Express Airways, the new airline of choice for Hong Kong travellers, is continuing to expand its already impressive line-up of routes across Asia, with the addition of four new popular destinations, all launching this month.

The airline is adding Osaka, Japan; Phuket, Thailand; Denpasar, Indonesia; and Manila, Philippines to its offerings: in time for holiday-makers to take advantage of the new routes for the up-coming peak Christmas season.

From September 6, Hong Kong Express Airways will fly daily to and from Osaka, leaving Hong Kong at 10:45 and arriving in Osaka at 15:25 and leaving Osaka at 16:25 to arrive in Hong Kong at 19:30.

The first flight to Phuket will take off on September 10, operating every Wednesday and Sunday. Monday and Tuesday flights will be added from October 13 onwards to offer more flexible schedules for travellers.

Flights to Denpasar will begin from September 11, offering two flights per week.

Starting from mid-October, there will be four flights a week.

Daily flights to Manila will start operation on September 25, leaving Hong Kong at 20:30 and arriving in Manila at 22:30 and leaving Manila at 07:55 and arriving in Hong Kong at 10:00.

All flight schedules are confirmed until the end of October, after which the airline will issue new flight timetables for each destination.

Raymond Ng, Director of Commercial at Hong Kong Express Airways said: “These new routes are sure to please the people of Hong Kong. “All of these destinations have been chosen for their popularity, particularly as ‘hot’ holiday spots, but also as important business hubs for those who conduct work across Asia.

“By offering these routes we are giving the people of Hong Kong more choice in the way they choose to fly. And we will continue to do so with the addition of more destinations in the coming months.”

In the past few months, Hong Kong Express has rapidly expanded and strengthened its network in the Asian region. It now offers flights to 18 destinations across Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
