SAS Airlines appoints new UAE District Manager
Monday, September 08, 2008
SAS Scandinavian Airlines, the leading carrier in Northern Europe, has appointed Anna Lyczak-Czepukojc as the new District Manager for the UAE effective 1st September this year.

“I wish to announce that effective of September 1st, Anna Lyczak-Czepukojc has taken on the job as District Manager United Arab Emirates,” said Per Moller Jensen, Vice President, International Areas, for SAS Scandinavian Airlines.

“Her extensive experience from the travel trade, marketing, PR and particularly in B2B and B2C sales, will ensure that our operation to Dubai will continue its success. I wish Anna a warm welcome to this new exciting challenge in Dubai,” he added.

Anna began her career at SAS in 1994 in tickets sales and customer service in Gdansk. She has since then worked within sales, responsible mainly for corporate and agent account management and was the Sales Executive for Northern Poland.

She holds a Masters degree in Scandinavian Literature and Languages (speaks fluent Norwegian) from the University of Gdansk, as well as a MBA degree which she acquired in 2004 from the University of Gdansk & Rotterdam School of Management. Besides that, Anna also participated in the internal management training: EMEA Development Academy in 2006-07.

Anna takes over the post of UAE District Manager from Magnus Engstrom, who was responsible for SAS Scandinavian Airlines’ successful inaugural season of operations in the UAE.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
