Aerosur launches new routes and adds aircraft
Friday, October 10, 2008
Aerosur has taken delivery of a Boeing 747-300 and has immediately placed it onto the Santa Cruz to Madrid route to offer increased capacity.

The addition of the Boeing 747 is the first stage of a significant fleet and network expansion which has included the acquisition of a Boeing 767-200 for use on the Miami route as well as ongoing discussions with Airbus and Boeing for new short-haul equipment.

In the short term, Aerosur will lease 3 Boeing 737-300 aircraft to launch new flights to Tucuman in the North of Argentina (from September), Panama and Bogota (from November) as well as Ciuba in western Brazil and Anfofagasta and Iquique in northern Chile (from early 2009).

Aerosur flights are bookable in the UK through any IATA travel agent with fares offered from London Gatwick including connecting flights to Madrid.

Aerosur, based in Bolivia, operates over 80% of the country’s domestic flights as well as an extensive network of international routes throughout Latin America as well as to Miami and Madrid. Through a partnership with Air Comet, the airline offers connections to Latin America via Madrid from several European points. The airline’s fleet comprises B737, 767 and 747 aircraft.
