Langham Hotels International appoints Director of Spa Operations

Luxury hotel operator, Langham Hotels International (LHI) has appointed Barry White to the position of Director of Spa Operations to oversee the global operations quality of Chuan Spa – the group’s proprietary wellness brand based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) philosophies and techniques.
As LHI expands its Chuan Spas in line with the group’s hotel development plans, Mr White will be responsible for ensuring consistency of all spa facilities within the portfolio to exacting brand standards.
He will also be part of the team that leads the spa development of forthcoming properties, including Langham Place Beijing Capital Airport which will help revolutionise the airport hotel experience when it opens in 2009. His first projects have included the launch of Chuan Body + Soul at The Langham, Boston, the rebranding of the spa in Langham Place Eco Resort + Spa, Koh Lanta and the introduction of Chuan Spa to the New Zealand market.

Barry was most recently Chuan Spa Director at Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong which was nominated for several awards including Best Hong Kong Spa in the South China Morning Post Style Awards and Travel Weekly Asia Awards and winning Best Male Spa Treatments in 2006 at the Asia Spa Baccarat Awards.
Prior to his work at Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong, Barry’s career included positions in Central London and Australia.
