As LHI expands its Chuan Spas in line with the group’s hotel development plans, Mr White will be responsible for ensuring consistency of all spa facilities within the portfolio to exacting brand standards.

He will also be part of the team that leads the spa development of forthcoming properties, including Langham Place Beijing Capital Airport which will help revolutionise the airport hotel experience when it opens in 2009. His first projects have included the launch of Chuan Body + Soul at The Langham, Boston, the rebranding of the spa in Langham Place Eco Resort + Spa, Koh Lanta and the introduction of Chuan Spa to the New Zealand market.

Brett Butcher, Senior Vice President – Brands said: “Barry has demonstrated a consistent and innovative eye to the vision of Chuan Spa as we engage our consumers on their journey to wellness. He is able to bring ideas and creative touches which are in line or even ahead of spa trends.”

Barry was most recently Chuan Spa Director at Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong which was nominated for several awards including Best Hong Kong Spa in the South China Morning Post Style Awards and Travel Weekly Asia Awards and winning Best Male Spa Treatments in 2006 at the Asia Spa Baccarat Awards.

The imminent privatization of Olympic Airlines is expected to change the fate of this debt-laden airline. What do you think the new owner should do in regard to the brand name of the Greek national flag carrier?.

Keep “Olympic Airlines” as the name of the company as it remains a strong brand.

The company should keep “Olympic” as an element of its name but refresh the brand (e.g. “New Olympic Airlines”).

The airline should drop “Olympic” from its name. This brand has lost its value and isn’t relevant to the market anymore.
