For Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Awards
Third year in a row Sun Country ranked within the Top Five Airlines
Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Sun Country Airlines announced that it has been ranked on the list of Top Domestic Airlines in Conde Nast Reader’s Choice Awards in the Top 10 Domestic Airlines category. The awards are based on a readers’ survey that ranks travel entities based on cabin comfort, in flight service, value and customer satisfaction.

“I’m extremely proud of our employees, especially in light of the challenges they have faced within the past month,” said Stan Gadek, Chairman and CEO of Sun Country Airlines. “This award is a direct result of the commitment and loyalty our team exhibits every day”.

Sun Country Airlines joins Virgin America, Jet blue Airways, Midwest Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines in the top 5. “This is the third year in a row we have been ranked in Conde Nast Readers Choice Awards,” continued Gadek. “The level of service exhibited by our employees is the reason we continue to be ranked with other top notch airlines such as these.”

Sun Country was also ranked in the top five Domestic Airlines for Travel & Leisure’s 2008 World’s Best Awards, an award that takes into account personal service and attention. This is the third year in a row T&L has also ranked Sun Country in the top ten.

The imminent privatization of Olympic Airlines is expected to change the fate of this debt-laden airline. What do you think the new owner should do in regard to the brand name of the Greek national flag carrier?.

Keep “Olympic Airlines” as the name of the company as it remains a strong brand.

The company should keep “Olympic” as an element of its name but refresh the brand (e.g. “New Olympic Airlines”).

The airline should drop “Olympic” from its name. This brand has lost its value and isn’t relevant to the market anymore.
