Capital of Austria; Vienna is looking forward to welcome more Turkish tourists in 2009. Vienna Tourist Board organized a meeting last week at Istanbul Modern Museum with the cooperation of Austrian Airlines. Press officer of Vienna Tourist Board; Olivia Divjak said, Vienna is interested to host more Turkish tourists in 2009. Divjak revealed that 41 thousand Turkish travelers visited Vienna in 2008, expressing their target for 2009 as 60 thousand Turkish travelers.
 
Vienna Tourist Board Marketing Manager Ingrid Friz-Frizberg and Austrian Airlines Turkey Manager Altug Bekdemir also attended the meeting and promoted Vienna with its over 300 events that will attract tourists next year.

Vienna with 386 hotels ranging between 2 and 5 star hotels and a total of 49 thousand bed capacity hosted 9,6 million tourists last year. German and American travelers are the most visiting nations followed by Romanian and Russian travelers. Moreover, Turkish travelers visiting Austria increased to 108,865 tourists in 2008 from 52,986 tourists.
