Qatar Airways has not bid for Olympic - exec VP
Wednesday, January 14, 2009
Qatar Airways has not bid for Greece's state-owned Olympic Airlines, an executive said on Sunday, adding the Gulf Arab firm was also seeing some trouble obtaining financing for plane purchases in current conditions.

"We have never been interested in taking any other airline or any other ventures," Ali al-Rais told reporters in Dubai. Rais added that he "wouldn't be telling the truth if I said we weren't having trouble financing ... planes," but noted that a consortium of banks were still behind the airline.
