Panel entitled "Optimizing Travel Spend"
ACTE President D. Weeks to participate in panel at Procurecon Indirect USA 2009

Doug Weeks, President of the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE), will sit on a panel of business travel industry professionals during the annual procurement and corporate sourcing event, ProcureCon Indirect USA 2009, 10-12 Feb. in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Entitled, “Optimizing Travel Spend,” the panel discussion will take place on Thursday, 12 February at 2:10p.m.

“We are glad to have Doug represent ACTE at ProcureCon, an important event for our industry,” Susan Gurley, ACTE Executive Director, said. “As a veteran of the business travel industry, his expertise and insight will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the panel and generate some lively discussion.”

The other companies represented on the panel include Michael Foods, Teradyne and Autodesk.

Weeks is the Director, Global Sourcing and Travel with Booz & Company, located in McLean, Va. He is responsible for the sourcing and contract management of all travel categories and services throughout the firm, totaling nearly $200M USD annually. He also oversees and manages sourcing and contract management activities for additional categories including IT hardware and services, HR professional services, and other professional services categories purchased throughout the firm.

Prior to joining Booz & Company in 2000, Weeks worked as a travel industry consultant at the Travel Management Group helping clients implement best practices in corporate travel management.

Weeks has been an active member of ACTE since 2000, having participated on the Steering Committee for the 2004 Global Education Conference in Stockholm. He received an ACTE Distinguished Fellow award in 2004 for his educational presentation at the association’s conference in Orlando.

Weeks is a graduate of Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
