Movenpick Hotels & Resorts to launch their first residence in Dubai
Tuesday, February 03, 2009
Having been a successful part of the Swiss international hotel group's portfolio since summer 2003, the Movenpick Hotel Bur Dubai has now extended its offering by opening a new residence building to launch the Movenpick Hotel & Residence Bur Dubai in February this year. Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI), the leading resort and hotel investment company, acquired the building in 2006 to complement and provide additional capacity to the adjacent Movenpick Hotel Bur Dubai, also owned by KHI.

The new building will have 57 fully furnished apartments which consist of six one-bedroom apartments, 47 two-bedroom apartments and four three-bedroom apartments. The residence offers a lounge facility, rooftop swimming pool, fully equipped gym, steam and sauna rooms, underground parking and is professionally serviced by the hotel’s housekeeping and room service divisions. The contemporary style offers spacious living rooms, balconies and fitted kitchens with modern fixtures and high-speed wireless internet access throughout. All guests have full use of the hotel’s facilities including the seven eclectic dining venues currently available, which are only a few steps from the residence building.

Adjacent to the Movenpick Hotel Bur Dubai, the residence building benefits from its proximity to the airport, World Trade Exhibition Centre, Dubai Healthcare City and luxury shopping malls. The target markets for the residence building are short stay corporate travellers, medium stay expatriates relocating to Dubai and GCC families during the summer months.

The launch of the new residence follows the completion of the 26 newly constructed hotel rooms on the fifth floor of the hotel property. As a result, the Movenpick Hotel & Residence Bur Dubai’s total inventory will increase to 312 rooms.

“The extension has come at an ideal time, these additional hotel rooms and apartments allow us to deliver more options to our clients”, comments Michael Nugent, General Manager of the Movenpick Hotel & Residence Bur Dubai. “The demand for longer stay facilities is growing in the market and we are pleased to now be able to satisfy this need. The team and I are committed to making the extension a success and to be a part of the growth of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts in the region.”
