Starwood’s Middle East Expo Week
The latest developments in hotel and leisure industry across the Middle East
Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Starwood Hotels & Resorts will host their annual Middle East roadshow in six major destinations across the Middle East countries between 28th of February and 5th of March, 2009. A highlight of the roadshow is a series of industry workshops that will take place in each destination, namely Riyadh, Jeddah, Bahrain, Kuwait, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Bringing together over forty experts from Starwood hotels worldwide, the special event will provide an excellent opportunity for hotel industry specialists to exchange views and expertise on latest developments in the industry.

"The Middle East region has been outperforming all others; and achieving the highest growth rate worldwide. The region is moving very fast, and so are we. We’ve been very busy working on several exciting new projects across the region. This year we will introduce the W brand to the region with the opening of the W Doha and we will launch the aloft brand later this year in Abu Dhabi, with the opening of the 400-room aloft Abu Dhabi. In 2008 we signed more than 10 new deals and we have an aggressive pipeline moving forward”, said Guido De Wilde, Vice President, Regional Director of Starwood Hotels and Resorts in the Middle East.

“The Middle East region is steadily positioning itself on the world map. It’s an important outbound market, and during our tour in the six cities, our delegates who represent 40 hotels in more than 20 countries and 4 continents from around the world, will have the chance to update over 2000 customers invited to these events on their products and offers for 2009”, de Wilde added.
