Cruise ships reaching Danube Delta will be over 150, 20 less than in 2007

Tuesday, February 24, 2009
The president of Europolis group and vice-president of Danube Delta Tourism Association, Victor Iancu, specified that the number of cruise ships reaching Romania continued to drop in the past 2 years. The situation is a result of the lower tariffs applied by Ukraine’s tour operators.
At the end of the last year, central authorities approved a decision stipulating that tourism operators in Danube Delta are exonerated from paying taxes for several out of season services.
Victor Iancu stated that this year, 154 cruise ships will anchor in Danube Delta through Europolis group of companies, 12 maritime ships and 174 tourist groups from Europe, willing to tour in Romania.
