Three-year contract
Scandic Hotels signs long term agreement with Pegasus Solutions
Friday, May 22, 2009
Stockholm’s Scandic Hotels has re-signed its contract with Pegasus Solutions’ Global Commission Processing for another three years, extending the hotel’s relationship with the leading global commission services provider to seven years.

“Our team of 7,000 strives to do business in a way that makes everyone feel good, from travelers and members of the community to buyers and agents,” said Tim McCarthy, Director of Business Intelligence and Support for Scandic Hotels. “Teaming with Pegasus, we demonstrate our commitment to both buyers and agents. They know a contract with Pegasus means they will be paid, and they will be paid on time, quickly and efficiently. For us, that translates into sustainable bookings.”

With Pegasus’ Global Commission Processing, agents that book with Scandic Hotels receive monthly commission payments in any of 37 currencies offered. Additionally, buyers can opt to “go green” with direct deposit, which minimizes both the carbon footprint and speed of payments.

“Scandic Hotels values the benefits of partnering with Pegasus to keep travel agents happy, which is why this extension is an indispensable move for the company,” said Mark S. Dubrow, president of Pegasus financial services. “Pegasus consolidates and distributes agency and intermediary commissions not only to minimize work on the hotel side, but also to ensure that more than 60,000 agencies worldwide have access to various payment and reporting options so they receive their payments when and how they want them.”

Scandic Hotels has more than 152-properties throughout the Nordic and Northern European region catering to both leisure and business travelers. Pledging quality accommodations, a high level of service, and value, Scandic Hotels is also recognized for its industry-leading sustainability programs benefiting the environment, the community and its business.

Pegasus Solutions is the hospitality industry’s leading provider of commission processing services, paying more than $500 million in commissions annually. Worldwide, the company’s commission processing services serve in excess of 35,000 properties, as well as the majority of travel agencies and travel distributors in more than 200 countries.
