Travelconnect was chosen because of its rich content and flexible functionality
Comtec Group to roll out Travelconnect across STA Travel UK branches
Wednesday, June 03, 2009
Travel specialist STA Travel is rolling out Comtec Group’s Travelconnect product in all of its 45 UK shops. Travelconnect was chosen because of its rich content, ease of use and flexible functionality all of which meet STA Travel’s requirements to sell the widest choice of student, budget and independent travel across the UK. STA Travel will be the largest single roll out of Travelconnect since it ‘went on sale’ at WTM in 2008.

Comtec’s Travelconnect product will enable STA Travel’s specialist advisors to search, cost and book an extensive range of trips and holidays in branches across the UK, using the Comtec Travelgateway.  Travelconnect will provide agents with accurate pricing for traditional package offerings, access to Charter Flights and Low Cost Carriers (replacing the Dolphin Flight Scanner previously in place) and a variety of ways to display the results including in list, comparison, and calendar format.

“Travelconnect is a fantastic selling solution for our counter staff that provides everything they need from a single solution,” comments Ian Swain, Product Director, STA Travel. “It is simple to use, provides real time pricing and booking and the rich content our customers demand. We are confident that Travelconnect is going to significantly speed up sales, which will only enhance the booking experience for our customers.  In addition we expect the tool to help boost turnover, critical in today’s economic environment.”

Simon Powell, Chief Executive, Comtec Group ends; “Travelconnect’s selection by STA Travel is a great endorsement for the product. Our R&D team focused on making Travelconnect the ultimate desktop selling tool for today’s agent, and feedback from all our clients is showing that we have delivered. STA Travel’s roll out is a significant one for us, and we look forward to helping them achieve increased sales in all branches.”
