Friday, June 05, 2009
RIEO Communications, the leading provider of High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) and Acentic, the international provider of digital TV services to hotels, announced that they have installed a combined system to integrate TV and Internet services for next generation in-room hotel entertainment, for the first time in the UK at the Courtyard by Marriott, London Gatwick Airport.

The combined offering of HSIA and in-room digital TV and entertainment provides the guests of the Courtyard by Marriott, London Gatwick Airport with complete flexibility over connectivity and choice of media and is designed to create a comprehensive, interactive online service for the hospitality sector integrating HSIA with entertainment, while generating additional revenue streams for the hotel.

"With over 50 joint installations throughout Europe, I am delighted that we have installed this combined offering in the UK," says Mark Teasdale, Managing Director of RIEO Communications. "State-of-the-art facilities were a must for Courtyard by Marriott, London Gatwick Airport, so our combined package with Acentic was ideal to meet the hotel's requirement to provide its guests with the highest level of quality and comfort."

"RIEO Communication's HSIA is an excellent companion product for our in-room entertainment system, one which can greatly enhance a hotel's value proposition. With this combined offering, we can propose to guests the same level of comfort they have in their own homes – fast, secure Internet access and a great digital interactive TV system," said Alistair Forbes, CEO of Acentic. "Our relationship has worked very well in Europe with a large number of hotels installed with our joint solution, this being the first such deal in the UK.  Together, Acentic and RIEO are bringing a best of breed solution to the Courtyard by Marriott, London Gatwick Airport."
