On 20 June Newquay Cornwall Airport will see the welcome return of its popular seasonal flights to Dusseldorf in Germany. Operated by Lufthansa Regional franchise partner Eurowings, the airline is offering a weekly Saturday service to this important city in the heart of the Rhein-Ruhr region using Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft.

"We are delighted to reinstate our summer flights between Newquay and Dusseldorf,” said Lufthansa Vice President Oliver Wagner. “The south west region of the UK is well known to German tourists owing to the popularity of the Rosamunde Pilcher novels that have been made into a TV drama series here.”

Located on the banks of the River Rhine, Dusseldorf is one of the largest and wealthiest cities in Germany.  It is a modern, vibrant city and a key European commercial centre. Visitors to the city can sample a wide range of cultural activities, including the many museums and galleries, the German Opera House and numerous theatres. During the summer months the city’s night-time atmosphere comes alive and the streets are lined with alfresco dining and drinking at the cosmopolitan eateries and bars. Visitors to Dusseldorf are also perfectly located to access other German cities, including Dortmund, Cologne and Bonn.
