Extend your stay in Britain with the Eventbritain Britrail Pass

In conjunction with ACP Rail and ATOC, VisitBritain has launched the eventBritain BritRail Pass to allow overseas visitors good value access to the entire UK rail network.

The pass available to overseas visitors attending an event in Britain, encourages them to extend their pre and post event stays to explore the nations and regions. A 3 day pass which can be used over an 8 day period and a 7-day pass which can be used over a 15 day period are available for both standard and first class journeys. Prices start at just £99 for 3 days of travel within 8 which offers great value for money for the discerning traveller.

This year’s 100th Annual Rotary International Convention will be hosted on 21–24 June in Birmingham and it is the first event to take advantage of the pass. Since it has gone on sale, 263 passes have been sold generating around £37k.

Ian Taylor, Birmingham Convention Bureau said: “The Rotary International Convention is bringing more than 18,000 visitors from 155 countries around the world to Birmingham. This is a very significant event and the Britrail Pass will encourage visitors to explore the rest of the UK during their stay, providing a welcome boost to tourism around the country and adding value for event organisers when considering host destinations.”

The eventBritain BritRail Pass is only one of many products available for event visitors, with passes for the original London sightseeing tour, Great British Heritage, London sightseeing, Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and Oyster cards available online at www.visitbritaindirect.com/events/en-GB/ This service will support business travel and highlight the additional products and destinations Britain has to offer.

Participants must present a delegate badge or event ID prior to boarding the train, but the pass provides the flexibility to hop on and off trains at their leisure and also includes airport transfers.
