Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the airline as it enters the next phase of its realignment strategy. Samer Majali, former CEO of one of the Middle East’s most commercially successful carriers, Royal Jordanian, will take over at Gulf Air within the next few months from current CEO Bjorn Naf.  Until then, Talal Al Zain, Gulf Air’s Chairman, will manage the business in the temporary position of Executive Chairman.

Navtech, Inc., a leader in flight operations software and services, has named travel industry veteran Lee Granger as Vice-President, Product Marketing. In her new role, she will set and implement strategy for global external communications, product development and management. Ms. Granger comes to Navtech from her own travel business consultancy, The Granger Group, LLC, where she consulted with a variety of travel-industry companies, in the areas of strategic planning, competitive analysis, organizational structure, marketing, public relations, and training curriculum development.

Mr Peter Henley, President  & CEO of Amari Hotels and Resorts, has announced the appointment of Ms Lisa Donald as the new Group Director of Revenue Management for Amari Hotels and Resorts. Ms Donald, an Australian national, brings to the role over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Since the late 1990’s Ms Donald has specialised in the field of revenue management, working with a variety of clients to assist in developing revenue management culture and to implement revenue strategies. Most recently, she was Vice-President of Client Services with the Cairnhill Group Holdings, in Singapore.
