New CSR incentive
VisitBrighton gets Eventia painting the town
Thursday, July 09, 2009
Launched at IMEX, VisitBrighton’s new CSR incentive had its first participants last night when delegates from Summer Eventia took part in a city-wide treasure trail which included a community challenge.

Aimed at ‘giving something back’ to the community, the delegates were set the task of revitalising the 3rd playground of St Bartholomew’s school. Yesterday evening, as part of a city-wide treasure trail, the paints came out, the overalls put on and the playground was transformed into a fun, new and engaging environment for the pupils to enjoy.

“It’s great that our first CSR incentive package was received so enthusiastically. Eventia’s delegates looked like they had great fun and I know that the children really appreciate their new playground. Last night’s activity just goes to show that you can organise a value-led event that results in a positive social impact on delegates with minimal impact on the environment,” comments Julia Gallagher, Convention Bureau Manager, VisitBrighton.

Speaking of last nights success Izania Downie, CEO, Eventia said; “Following a full day of education the community focused activity was the perfect way to round off a brilliant first day. Knowing that we had actively done something worthwhile really was the icing on the cake to our event and a brilliant way to evoke a sense of team spirit.”

In partnership with Brighton Community Partnership, VisitBrighton has created a whole range of initiatives including beach hut renovation, restoration of Victorian railings, and educational workshops.  The purpose of the CSR incentives is for delegates to come away feeling positive having benefited the local community. Each incentive activity can be tailored to meet a company’s specific needs from providing great networking opportunities to company development as a whole.
