Hands Up Holidays offers volunteering holidays
New wildlife volunteering holidays to Slovakia
Monday, July 13, 2009
Specialist tour operator Hands Up Holidays, who offer volunteering holidays that combine luxury tourism with making a positive impact on a destination, have launched a new 10 day Slovakia volunteering holiday, `Sublime Slovakia’.
The holiday is suitable for singles, couples and families and gives guests the chance to help conserved endangered bears and chamois, by studying and recording the habitats of wildlife that includes bears, wolves, chamois, red and roe deer and birds of prey, as well as finding out about the history and culture of the region, with visits to local museums, towns and villages.
Accommodation is at Europe’s leading eco-resort, AquaCity, twice winner of the World’s Leading Green Resort, with additional overnight stays in local pensions and mountain huts during the conservation project.
By joining in vital monitoring work to census the bears and chamois in Slovakia’s Tatras Mountains, the most westerly habitat for the brown bear, and by providing conservation education in local schools, guests can make a positive impact on the conservation of these endangered species, while at the same time enjoying a holiday.
