Cleanly designed and easy to use
Travel search engine Nowfly.co.uk launches its latest version
Wednesday, July 22, 2009
Cleanly designed and easy to use, nowfly.co.uk was started by a group of online and travel experts with a clear objective to provide an easy, fun and best-priced way of finding a flight, hotel or car rental. nowfly.co.uk successfully launched its travel search engine at the end of 2008 and was picked out by the TimesOnline for inclusion within its top ten travel websites to look out for in January 2009.

The business is headed by Dan Hart, who has extensive experience in the online and travel sectors. “Since its launch, we have been able to gather valuable feedback in addition to undertaking further usability testing. This has given us the opportunity of seeing where the site worked well but importantly, where it needed enhancing”, commented Hart. The result has seen improved functionality and navigational changes with clearer presentation.

In addition, nowfly.co.uk has joined forces with travel journalist Marcus Waring (Evening Standard, the Independent, Sunday Times Travel Magazine, www.thehotelguru.com) to launch ‘zip it’, nowfly’s travel column. This includes travel tips and news by Marcus and as well as nowfly users thanks to a new blog and Twitter contributions. nowfly.co.uk has also picked up several great tips from well-known faces.

There are a number of factors that set nowfly.co.uk apart from its competitors:
- Content is broad and wide, searching more than 340 airlines including low-cost, charter and scheduled carriers.
- nowfly.co.uk uses an airline-style search, presenting results for each sector rather than combining outbound and inbound options together.
- The site has third-party integration with leading, well-known travel sites as well as airlines, hotels and car rental suppliers.
- The website has geo-coded results for all the leading hotel chains and major consolidators, using Google Maps to visually place hotel results.
- nowfly.co.uk has teamed up with travel journalist Marcus Waring to provide weekly travel tips and ideas through its ‘zip it’ column, to help users get the very most from their journeys.
- nowfly.co.uk has added a new community site where its users can blog, share photos, video or audio files.

Utilising cutting-edge technology, nowfly.co.uk is the first site in the UK to employ TRAVELfusion’s API. Dan comments “I believe that the combination of good content from TRAVELfusion, matched with a great user-face, is a compelling proposition for travellers booking trips online.”

Comments Moshe Rafiah, TRAVELfusion CEO: “This is exactly the kind of partnership that we envisioned when we created our XML API programme. By combining the most advanced travel search technologies developed by TRAVELfusion with innovative applications such as nowfly.co.uk, we have created a winning formula for success.”
