CIBTM is taking place between 8-10 September 2009
CIBTM appoints Air China as exclusive and official airline partner
Wednesday, August 05, 2009
The China Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (CIBTM) has appointed Air China as the exclusive and official airline partner to the show. It is the first time that Air China has been a partner of a meetings and incentives event in China, showing recognition of the potential of the brand association with CIBTM but also the wider exposure of Reed Exhibitions China and Reed Travel Exhibitions. This also demonstrates the airline’s commitment to developing its brand in the global meetings sector.

CIBTM, taking place between 8-10 September 2009 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing, and co-hosted by the Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA) is scheduled to deliver over 4000 trade visitors, more than 300 Hosted Buyers and 300 exhibitors from China, Asia and internationally. This makes CIBTM the largest event dedicated to the meetings and incentives industry in the country.

Air China will be providing flights for international, regional and local buyers. A promotional campaign to their global database will also take place as part of this partnership. Graeme Barnett, CIBTM Exhibition Director commented: “Attracting China’s national airline as a strategic partner for CIBTM is a significant step forward and one that we hope will have major benefits for CIBTM now and in the future. Air China has demonstrated a strong commitment to the fast developing Business Travel and MICE sector both regionally but also internationally and we look forward to communicating the Air China brand to our global audience at CIBTM and more widely across the RTE Meetings & Incentives portfolio.”

Air China owns 224 Boeing and Airbus planes operating across 243 routes covering 28 countries and districts, including 69 international routes, 6 regional routes and 168 domestic routes. It provides more than 6,000 weekly flights and offers 1 million seats. By travelling with Air China, passengers can easily reach 81 domestic destinations and 42 international and regional destinations through its strong and balanced global route network with Beijing as the major hub.

Air China has successfully established cooperative partnerships with 20 well-known airlines globally. In 2007, Air China formally joined Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance, which further expands its service to 897 destinations in 160 countries and enables it to offer passengers more convenience and benefits.
