Hotel company IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has combined its Latin America and Caribbean regions under the leadership of chief operating officer Alvaro Diago, the company said last Wednesday. Diago was most recently area president for Latin America and his team in Miami was responsible for all IHG brand hotels in Central and South America as well as some Caribbean destinations. He will now take on responsibility for all 11 IHG hotels in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile the expanded region's Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management team will be led by regional vice president Carlos Baruki and the new region's director of Development is Salo Smaletz.

IHG owns, manages, leases or franchises through subsidiaries more than 4,300 hotels and almost 630,000 guest rooms in around 100 countries and territories globally. In addition there are nearly 1,600 hotels in its development pipeline.
