Fraport AG has added another airline to its Frankfurt Airport (FRA) global network. Effective immediately, Air Baltic is flying daily nonstop flights between Frankfurt and the Latvian capital of Riga. Air Baltic is using Boeing 737-500 and 300 jets which seat 120 and 149 passengers respectively. The approximate flying time from Frankfurt to Riga (RIX) is 125 minutes.
A Fraport spokesman stressed that the “FRA international air transportation hub is served by more than 130 airlines linking the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region to some 300 destinations in 106 countries. We are very pleased to have Air Baltic as a ‘new airline’ in Frankfurt and that it has added the Frankfurt-Riga route to its schedule. We wish Air Baltic great success and happy landings always.”
In 2008, Air Baltic flew more than two million passengers, thus achieving a new passenger record for the Latvian national carrier. The leading airline in the Baltic region, Air Baltic offers flight connections via its Riga hub to more than 60 destinations in northern and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.
Passengers flying with Air Baltic from FRA can take advantage of its numerous connecting flights at Riga to various destinations in Scandinavia and Finland, Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
