From 10 October, the oldest part of the departure hall of Brussels Airport will be undergoing a thorough rejuvenation cure. These works will affect the check-in area of desk rows 11 and 12. These works will bring this part of the departure hall up to the same level of quality as that of the other ten check-in rows. The renovation will also include the replacement of the window frames on the facade under the porch and the introduction of a new floor. Departing passengers will be welcomed by brand new ticket and check-in desks equipped with a specially adapted luggage system. The use of transparent materials and bright colours will make the restored hall spacious and light.
The restored infrastructure will be commissioned before the end of the Easter holidays. The new check-in and ticket environment will be an attractive asset to Thomas Cook Airlines, Jetairfly and the other airlines using this new infrastructure.
From 10 October, the check-in activity for flights to Africa will completely move from check-in row 11 to check-in row 1, close to the airline’s ticketing desks and its check-in to European destinations.
Because of these renovation works, the capacity of check-in rows 11 and 12 will be unavailable during the winter season. Several measures are taken to limit any inconveniences to an absolute minimum.
