Mosaic Holidays launches forst Jordan Programme
Friday, October 02, 2009
Independent luxury operator Mosaic Holidays has unveiled its first-ever standalone Jordan brochure - a product which is the only one of its kind in the UK. Previously the operator featured Jordan within its Egypt brochure, however thanks to escalating demand from the trade and consumers for the destination, managing director Sabina Shaida decided the time was right to launch it as a separate programme.

“We were one of the first companies to feature the Red Sea resorts in Egypt 10 years ago, and of course, they have nearly reached saturation point. I wanted to go back to our roots of bringing new places to a wider audience. Jordan is the perfect choice for our discerning customers who are looking for something a little bit different,” she said.

“Jordan is often sold as a touring destination but it’s difficult to see the real country on a whirlwind visit, and there is so much to see. From the fertile Jordan Valley to the wilderness of Wadi Rum to the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea, there is so much to choose from - it’s a truly awe-inspiring country.”

One of the main highlights of Jordan is Petra, the vast ancient city carved into a sheer rock face, and lost to the west for more than 30 years, before being rediscovered by a Swiss traveller, Johann Ludwig Burckhardt.

However there is more to Jordan than Petra, such as Amman, the country’s capital where modern commercial businesses rub shoulders with traditional artisan workshops; the ancient city of Jesrah which is considered to be one of the best preserved Roman provincial towns in the world; world-class diving in Aqaba; Mount Nebo where Moses is said to have seen the Promised Land, and Wadi Rum the largest and most magnificent of Jordan’s desert landscapes where Lawrence of Arabia fought the Ottomans.

Shaida urged agents to get behind the programme, saying: “These days it’s really rare to get a truly unique destination to offer your customers as the world is becoming homogenised. However Jordan is one of the few places left which is truly awe-inspiring. It’s a place where you can combine heritage, history, sport and natural beauty in one trip in either a single of multi-centre holiday.”

Mosaic Holidays pays a basic commission of between 10 and 15 per cent and is keen to work with agents on a number of projects, including fam trips and joint promotion opportunities.

“We are completely committed to the travel trade and will do all we can to support agents. If you’re interested in working with us then contact us at EMAIL and we’d be delighted to talk further,” said Shaida.

Mosaic Holidays offers flights from its partners Royal Jordanian, Monarch Airlines and Egypt Air.
