Club golfers and tennis players wanting to maintain their competitive edge during the winter months can do just that when La Manga Club hosts open tournaments in December.

The seventh Murcia Open Tennis Tournament takes place from December 6-12 with more than 8,000 euros worth of prizes is up for grabs, including luxury tennis and leisure breaks, the latest tennis equipment and cash prizes. Prizes are available in various age ranges from over-35 up to over-75 for men, and over-65 for ladies, with both singles and doubles events to be played.

Running alongside this will be the ninth Murcia Open Golf Tournament, December 7-12, a 54-hole competition which also boasts more than 8,000 euros worth of prizes, including luxury golf and leisure breaks and the latest golf equipment.

Prizes are available in handicap categories for both men and women based on individual Stableford scores.

The competitions give guests the unique opportunity to compete under tournament conditions at a venue that has played host to numerous prestigious professional events including the Spanish Open golf event and both Davis and Fed Cup tennis matches.

Those attending the golf tournament can benefit from five-night packages costing just 193 euros per person based on four people sharing a two-bedroom apartment in Las Lomas Village, or 355 euros per person for a double room in the five-star Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe. And anyone staying in either of these accommodations can take advantage of free access to the indoor pool, saunas, steam rooms and gym at Spa La Manga Club.

There is an extra supplement of 309 euros per person for those competing in the tournament which also entitles guests to a welcome gift, cocktail reception, a practice round, three tournament rounds, a place at the gala dinner and prize-giving and more than 200 practice balls.

Tennis competitors can enjoy complimentary use of the resort’s 28 tennis courts throughout their stay as well as access to Spa La Manga Club’s fitness centre, indoor pool, saunas and steam rooms and will receive a welcome gift and accommodation starts from just 146 euros per night for a room in the five-star Hotel La Manga Principe Felipe or 58 euros per night for a studio apartment in Las Lomas Village.

Entry to the tennis tournament costs just 40 euros with a welcome cocktail reception for 32 euros and 60 euros for the gala dinner. Both competitions also have a programme of events for non-playing companions, including the welcome cocktail receptions and gala dinners, available for 309 euros.
