Ukraine Hotel, the former Europe's tallest building of such a type, is to be reopened in Moscow in late December. According to Vladimir Ermolaev, head of the Agency for Hotel Development Coordination operating under the Department of Urban Development of Moscow, the hotel is currently undergoing the final stage of reconstruction and restoration.

Ukraine Hotel built in 1987 was the tallest one in Europe. It is 206 metres in height. "The work aimed at reconstructing and restoring the hotel was done carefully to preserve its historic building," Mr Ermolaev emphasized.

It is also planned to purchase 10 ships featured on-board restaurants for the hotel guests. The moorages at the Moskva River are now being equipped with the necessary facilities.

The renewed Ukraine Hotel will meet modern requirements. Besides rooms and suites, it is designed to contain a lot of conference rooms. An additional conference hall was attached to the back of the hotel.
