Eastern Airways is further expanding its network of routes to Norway with the launch of two new routes to Bergen from Newcastle and Aberdeen this Monday (5 October 2009).

The new Bergen routes are the latest additions to the UK regional airline’s Norwegian network, which includes Stavanger services from Aberdeen and Newcastle, and Oslo flights from Aberdeen.

Daily weekday flights will be offered from Newcastle to Bergen along with daily services (except Saturdays) from Aberdeen to Bergen.

Newcastle flights depart at 10.30am, arriving in Bergen at 1.35pm local time. Services leave Bergen at 2.30pm, arriving in Newcastle at 3.35pm local time. Services take off from Aberdeen at 8.40am, landing in Bergen at 11.10am local time. Flights leave Bergen at 4.15pm, arriving in Aberdeen at 4.45pm local time.

Earlier this week the airline also confirmed that a Sunday service will be introduced on Newcastle - Stavanger services from 11 October 2009, and additional morning and evening services on the Aberdeen - Stavanger routeing from 5 October.

Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways chief operating officer, said: “Bergen is a major centre for the oil and gas industry and both our convenient, non-stop Newcastle and Aberdeen services will be of benefit to business travellers. Norway’s second largest city is also the gateway to the world famous fjords and our new services provide the ideal link for tourists taking short breaks.”
 
There are connections available to Bergen from Birmingham, Cardiff and Southampton via Newcastle. The Aberdeen - Bergen route offers connections for passengers travelling from Durham Tees Valley, Humberside, East Midlands, Norwich and Wick.

Passengers flying with Eastern Airways benefit from an inclusive service with no cost for baggage, choice of seat or onboard drinks and snacks.  Check-in is just 30 minutes before the departure time, and passengers have use of the dedicated fast track security channel in Newcastle to avoid any queues.
