Marc Lamidey, President & CEO, Brit Air has been elected as Vice President of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA). He was voted in by members at last Friday’s AGM in Interlaken, Switzerland, part of the annual ERA General Assembly. Lamidey replaces Padraig O’Ceidigh, Chairmain of Aer Arann who stepped down from the ERA Board this year.  He sits alongside Carlos Bertomeu, CEO of Air Nostrum who was elected as Vice President last year.

A total of eight Airline vacancies (Regular members) were available on the Board this year, including two additional positions that were proposed and accepted by members at the AGM.

Those newly elected Airlines are: Dimitris Gerogiannis, Managing Director, Aegean Airlines; Paul Schutz, CEO, Aer Arann; Bertolt Flick, President & CEO, airBaltic; Nicolae Petrov, President & CEO, Carpatair; Boet Kreiken, Managing Director, KLM Cityhopper; Martin Isler, EVP Airline, Luxair and Lars Kobberstad, CEO, Wideroe’s Flyveselskap. Jan Palmer, Board Member, Skyways Express was re-elected for a further 3 year term.

In the Affiliate I Airline category, Oleg Usmanov, Director General, Aeroflot-Nord was elected, replacing Alexander Kanischev who stepped down earlier this year.

Among the Associate I (Manufacturers) category, four candidates were chasing two vacant positions. Clemente Affinito, Sales Director, ATR was re-elected for a further 3 year term, while the second position resulted in a tie between Jean-Paul Ebanga, CEO, Snecma Powerjet and Luiz Fuchs, President & Managing Director, Embraer Aviation Europe. This unprecedented situation was resolved by proposing that both candidates be elected on to the Board for the 3 year term. The proposal was accepted by members and both Jean-Paul Ebanga and Luiz Fuchs were elected on to the ERA Board.
