Air Canada offers 7% commission “Treat” on Tango Plus fares
ACTA encouraged as Air Canada shows increased confidence in travel agents
Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Air Canada has announced this morning to further reward Travel McCaig photoAgents. Effective today the" 7% Cash Rewards" will be extended to Tango Plus fare for a 7 day period on all domestic travel.

“Air Canada has again shown great confidence in the Travel agent distribution model by continuing to increase the scope of products that will offer incentives to agents” said David McCaig, President and C.O.O. of the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA). “The addition of the 7% cash rewards system on an expanded product offering is a sign of the value that Air Canada has placed on the ability of the travel agents to be an integral part of the distribution system” McCaig continued.

ACTA recently met with Calin Rovinescu President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada, one of the many topics discussed was the potential benefits for both the airline and the travel agency community should agency remuneration be increased.

photoACTA will continue to meet with all airlines on a regular basis and explore all areas that can provide our members with the potential to increase revenues. McCaig commented “Clearly our members have demonstrated to Air Canada that the travel agency distribution model can be an integral part of an increase in market share, as long as the agency community sees the pledge of a commission structure and we will all benefit in the long term. ACTA encourages all agencies to take full advantage of this time limited offering and demonstrate to Air Canada the value of the travel agent.”
