Sylvia Lima named GM at the New Yorker Hotel Following its $70m. renovation and remodeling effort that propelled The New Yorker Hotel into the forefront of midtown hotels catering to business travelers, meetings and conferences as well as a variety of vacationers, The New Yorker Hotel Management Company has named Sylvia Lima as the new general manager, Sylvia Limaa move designed to take the hotel to a higher level of service that will match the new facilities. Mrs. Lima is a veteran travel and hospitality industry executive with more than 25 years of experience and becomes the first female to hold the position of general manager at The New Yorker Hotel.  Mrs. Lima brings a new high-energy profile to the position and intends to lead the staff of more than 500 employees in providing a superior level of quality service that meets the needs of both business and leisure guests.

Travelzest plc; Nishma Robb resigns as Group Distribution Director Travelzest, the UK and Canadian holiday retailer, announced that Nishma Robb has tendered her resignation as Group Distribution Director and will leave the Group in January 2010 to pursue other opportunities. Nishma joined Travelzest in April 2006 and has been responsible for developing the Group’s online capability. She was previously at Teletext Holidays, a subsidiary of Associated Newspapers (a division of Daily Mail & General Trust plc), of which she was a board director.

Media One hotel appoints Sebastien Noat as Operations Manager Media One Hotel, the contemporary new property that recently celebrated its trial opening, announced today the appointment of Sebastien Noat as Operations Manager. Noat will be responsible for the development and implementation of the hotel’s F&B concepts as well as overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s operation.
