Advance-bookable taxi transfers in Paris now available
Paris’ first pre-payable taxi transfer service launched by Snowcarbon
Tuesday, January 19, 2010
For the increasing number of skiers keen to travel to Europe by train, the journey is now even easier. A new range of advance-bookable taxi transfers in Paris are now available at snowcarbon.co.uk, the new website which promotes train travel to Europe for skiers and snowboarders. The website’s ‘change in Paris’ section is available to use from today.

Until now, travellers arriving by Eurostar at Paris’ Gare du Nord had to catch the Metro, walk or wait at the taxi rank to change railways stations for onward travel to the Alps and Pyrenees.

Now, pre-booked taxi services provide hassle-free transfers and an easy way of transporting potentially heavy luggage, skis and snowboards. Travellers can now relax in the knowledge that an English-speaking driver will meet them at the end of the Eurostar platform, holding a placard showing their name, and deliver them comfortably at their desired station.

At the destination station, the driver can even help passengers to their required platform if required, making this service particularly useful for skiers with ski equipment in addition to luggage, as well as for those who may not speak French.

For each taxi company, snowcarbon’s website provides a link that takes users directly to online booking forms. Alternatively, it provides a phone number where travellers can book directly in English.

Snowcarbon’s comprehensive change-in-Paris section also offers guidance on changing station by Metro, taxi rank and walking, and provides recommendations of restaurants located close to each station for those wanting to dine before boarding their onward train.

Snowcarbon’s co-founder, Daniel Elkan, comments: “These specific station-to-station advance-booked taxi services make rail journeys into Europe even easier and more relaxing, to the benefit of travellers and the environment. We have had already had constructive feedback on the need for such a service, so we are confident it will be a hit.”
