New pilot’s lounge opens in time for WEF
ExecuJet prepares for busiest time of year supporting WEF
Tuesday, January 26, 2010
The ExecuJet Aviation Group will once again be supporting business jets arriving at Zurich for the World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos, Switzerland, from 27th to 31st January. As in previous years, ExecuJet has secured an exclusive agreement with Dubendorf Airport (LSMD), the military-owned airport conveniently located just 5nm north of Zurich, to ensure its business aviation clients are able to arrive and depart with ease.

ExecuJet offers parking at Dubendorf for up to 15 aircraft at any one time (Stop-overs at Zurich without confirmed parking are restricted to three hours). Dubendorf will be open daily from 08.00 until 22.00.

With limited parking for business aviation aircraft and a restrictive slot allocation system at the main Zurich Kloten Airport, ExecuJet’s Zurich FBO team, headed by Nicole Gut, was quick to pre-book parking slots there. “This year we are anticipating over 300 movements during the WEF week, including larger jets flying in from January 23 - Boeing Business Jets, Global Express, for example,” says Nicole. ExecuJet has duly increased its personnel at Zurich and Dubendorf to handle the additional demand. Former FBO Director Graham Stephenson will oversee the Dubendorf activity.

New pilot’s lounge opens in time for WEF
At ExecuJet’s Zurich facility, flight crews arriving for the WEF will be among the first to enjoy the newly refurbished facilities in the crew lounge. A new wood flooring has been fitted, complemented by comfortable new chairs and loungers, plasma TV and an enhanced refreshment centre. Work facilities are also upgraded with new office furniture and wireless internet access for crew.

One of the key considerations in the redevelopment of the crew lounge was to provide suitable facilities for relaxation, satisfying the need of pilots to rest and prepare for their flights. “It’s part of our drive to deliver the best service level possible – to crew and customers” says Nicole Gut.

The World Economic Forum is marking its 40th anniversary in 2010 with the theme: "Improve the State of the World: Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild.” During the five-day meeting, more than 2,500 delegates from all corners of the globe will gather in Davos. Some 900 captains of industry will attend, representing the world’s foremost global corporations from strategic, industry, regional partners and global growth company partners. ExecuJet is proud to be hosting many VIP delegations from as many as 75 countries, which will include overseas Ministers and Presidents.

Improved traffic over the winter months
ExecuJet reports that its business aviation traffic has significantly increased since October/November. The Zurich FBO was particularly busy in the run up to Christmas, buoyed by the high net worth leisure sector, including the Russian market which comes to Switzerland to ski.  Fuel sales have also been strong during this period.

ExecuJet is further enhancing its efficiency with an upgrade to the latest web-based FBO One system, developed by Amsterdam Software and tailored for use by FBOs. Zurich goes live in February, followed by Berlin-Schonefeld and then Dubai International. The intuitive system interface supports all stages of the service process from handling requests and performing line service actions, to customer care.
