The Mayapada Group and Carlson Hotels to bring luxury Regent brand to Indonesia
Thursday, January 28, 2010
Carlson Hotels and The Mayapada Group announce their partnership to bring luxury brand Regent to Indonesia. They broke ground on the new property.

Scheduled to open in 2011, The Regent Bali will introduce contemporary style, luxury accommodations and personalised service to one of the world’s most sought-after holiday destinations - the island of Bali.

The Regent Bali ground-breaking comes shortly after Carlson Hotels announced that it will open a Regent property in Gurgaon, India.

“Regent is renowned for superior luxury and service. The brand has an iconic historical legacy in Asia, and a strong affinity to the region,” said Mr. Jean-Marc Busato, managing director - Asia Pacific, Carlson Hotels. “Our goal is to establish a Regent presence in every key gateway city and premier resort location in Asia Pacific.”

Surrounded by swaying palms, white sand beaches and inviting turquoise waters, The Regent Bali will provide all the key elements of a premium international beachfront hotel. Located on Sanur Beach, one of the most exclusive areas in Bali, guests are promised a refreshing and rich hotel experience from the moment they set foot into this luxury property.

Each of the 110 rooms will feature Balinese-inspired decor designed to help guests rejuvenate in the serenely beautiful surroundings. Guests will be able to enjoy an alluring array of premier dining venues at the hotel, including both authentic Balinese dining to classic fine dining. Another key feature of this luxury property will be the bar overlooking the pool, offering guests spectacular views of the garden and ocean.

Developed by Indonesian conglomerate The Mayapada Group, The Regent Bali will be operated by Carlson Hotels. The accompanying Regent Residences Bali will be wholly owned, developed and operated by The Mayapada Group.

“The Regent Bali and branded residences will be a significant addition to the island’s growing portfolio of luxury accommodations. Its highly distinctive brand name will play an integral role in attracting guests to the hotel, and we look forward to working with Regent to ensure the success of this development,” said Mr. Dr. Tahir, chairman, The Mayapada Group.

Regent hotels in operation include The Regent Beijing, The Regent Berlin, The Regent Grand Hotel Bordeaux, The Regent Singapore, The Regent Taipei, The Regent Palms Turks and Caicos, and The Regent Esplanade Zagreb.

Regent Hotels scheduled to open within the next three years include The Regent Emirates Pearl Abu Dhabi, The Regent Bangkok, The Regent Doha, The Regent Dubrovnik, The Regent Gurgaon, The Regent Kuala Lumpur, The Regent Maldives, The Regent Palmas del Mar Puerto Rico, and The Regent Phuket Cape Panwa.
