BVEP to hold Events Sector Professionalisation Workshop

The Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP), the umbrella organisation for the UK business tourism and events industry, is to hold a half day ‘Professionalisation’ workshop for the UK events sector.

The event, which takes place on Monday 22nd February 2010 at Earls Court, London, will be attended by all of the major employers key associations and stakeholders from the events sector and will focus on areas such as the National Skills Academy, continuing professional development (CPD), proposals for an Institute of Event Management, the development of event management degrees and Foundation degrees, and the benefits of work-based and e-learning.

The workshop will be moderated by Peter Rand MBE, Director of Industry Relations at Zibrant, and is being co-ordinated by Industry Consultant, Tony Rogers.

Chairman of the BVEP, Michael Hirst OBE, comments; “This workshop will play a crucial role in the continued development of the UK events industry. It is also a perfect example of how the BVEP is working to actively support its members and the wider industry.”
